Instow – A delightful North Devon village by the sea

Instow stands where the rivers Torridge and Taw run from the moors into Bideford Bay and is a popular holiday destination all year round.    Whether you are looking for a quiet break, an active family holiday, a bird watching retreat, a romantic break or just a bit of everything Instow has just want you need.

Instow also has great accommodation options, from a high quality hotel, through large houses suitable for big groups or small snugly cottages for two people – we have listed all the places to stay on this site so you can browse all the options on one site.

North Devon is a fantastic location and you do not have to travel too far for even more things to do for the young or old.

We hope that you will find all the information you need on this site – we are currently revamping it so please let us know if you think we have missed something.  If you are a local business and want to tell people about the services you offer holiday makers then please let us know and we will add your information without charge.

Buses between Barnstaple and Bideford pass through Instow. Stagecoach buses run every fifteen minutes and pass along Anstey way. First buses also run every fifteen minutes and pass along the sea front.

Instow Parking

There is limited parking along Marine Parade between April and September. Otherwise use pay and Display parking adjacent to the beach or the huge Car park next to the sand-hills.

Instow Ferry

The historic Instow to Appledore ferry is now back in action again after a few years absence.  A new community project has commenced to keep this wonderful service operating. The ferry is available to cross between the two villages a few hours before and after high tide.
